Responsibilities

  • At the direction of the Test Manager/Test Lead, develop and maintain regression test plans for applications assigned
  • Research with development each application assigned to determine what tests are required for interfaces including COTS products and infrastructure, application dependencies and the critical path
  • Review Architecture diagram to ensure all interfaces and dependencies are included for testing
  • Develop and maintain regression test cases with expected and test results for assigned applications according to test plan
  • Generate test case data, build procedures and testing scripts based upon requirements
  • Execute test cases, coordinate and execute tests, log and validate defects, debug and document issues 
  • Adhere to release schedules and project deadlines
  • Communicate both oral and written status of testing to Test Manager/Test Lead
  • Identify release risks and issues for testing assigned applications and propose mitigation plans to address.  
  • Familiarity with workflow, release control and automated deployment systems used to manage software application installs to the Pre-Production environment to ensure adherence to the release schedule
  • Report any identified blockers that impact the installation and start of testing cycle to the pre-Production environment
  • Understanding of test automation security, compliance and audit standards 
  • Evaluate current test automation processes for improvement   
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest tools and technologies related to software testing and  automation
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools 
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, and managing testing across cloud-based infrastructure
  • Identify, develop, and maintains standards and procedures related to the test environment
  • Implement best practices and principles to provide value added solutions in response to emerging testing needs
  • Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge of emerging test tools, techniques and technologies
  • Keep up to date with changes to the architecture for each assigned applications for changes required to test processes, ensuring that new and modified projects and system components are tested properly
  • Prepare reports relating to testing issues and results that have impact on OIT and business 
  • Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with all applicable laws, federal regulations, VA statutes and policies. Protects data from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration or unauthorized deletion. Follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files, release of access codes, etc. as put forth in the computer access agreement signed by the employee
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • IT Industry test experience (required) 
  • Ability to read and understand Functional, Technical architecture design documents and analyze test requirements  
  • Possess strong analytical, co-ordination, communication & reporting,skills 
  • Experience in testing Java, .Net, Web, SOA, ETL based applications 
  • Ability to prepare test data for various test cases/scenarios 
  • Exposure to multiple SDLC models like Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile models 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile development methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, development of automated testing and deployment. 
  • Technical knowledge of test systems and systems engineering testing policies, processes, best practices, and requirements as they relate to an integrated portfolio delivery test systems environment.  
  • Mastery of and skill in applying IT problem management methods and practices, as well as customer support methods and technologies sufficient to plan, implement and manage test cases that provide optimum results in meeting the testing needs of the customers.  
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including systems engineering best practices, hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals in the VA IT environment and in industry 

 

Education:

  • Masters Degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific /technical discipline and 5+ years’ work experience
  • Ten 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education: (15 years total)

Clearance: 

  • The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation 

Location:

  • Remote, USA
  • Monday - Friday (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM CST)

Pay Range:

  • The pay for this position ranges from $42,730 to $98,500
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location
  • Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses
