Overview

TISTA Science and Technology is looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join the team in Bethesda, MD. The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for providing technical support and guidance on a variety of hands-on engineering design, integration and maintenance in accordance with HHS/NIH standards.

 

This person must be resourceful, detail-oriented, and 100% client-focused, with a continuing passion for their profession.

Responsibilities

  • The Business Intelligence Developer has the responsibility for ensuring the effectiveness of information systems implemented to meet the needs of our clients.
  • The Business Intelligence Developer process will be dependent on existing systems requirement documents or the creation of new business process documentation developed along with test artifacts.
  • Provide guidance to other team members, external contractors, and the overall project teams.
  • The goal of the BI Developer is to support quality deliverables and processes for the organization as it adopts new technologies – (Cloud, High Performance Computing, and Machine Learning).
  • Ultimately, the BI Developer will work with the client to support its health-care research mission.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience as a Business Intelligence Developer and Analyst, with expertise in developing operational data stores (ODS), data warehouses, and data marts.
  • In-depth experience with data extraction, transformation, and Load (ETL), analytical report development, dashboards, and visualization.
  • Significant database design experience to support a flexible reporting architecture using relational, dimensional, and emerging database design techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience using Qlik
  • Excellent communications skills, business acumen, and planning skills are critical.
  • Ability to develop, design, and deploy a comprehensive data management strategy as well as an integrated reporting and analytics platform.

  • Mastery of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Power-Point and Project
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
    • Informatica, Pentaho, or similar ETL tool
    • Tableau, Business Objects, Power BI or similar tools
    • Erwin
    • SQL Server, Oracle RDBMS
    • SQL Server Reporting Services
    • TOAD SQL
    • Jira / Confluence
    • SharePoint

Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or related field 
  • Tableau Data Analyst Certification (preferred)  

 

Location: 

  • Remote/Bethesda, MD 

 

Clearance:  

  • The ability to obtain a government moderate background security clearance or Public Trust 

 

Pay Range:

  • The pay for this position ranges from $65,205 to $105,000.
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
